Spreading Self-Love at Ohio Avenue Elementary!

Another incredible school visit to add to the books! This time, I had the pleasure of visiting the amazing students at Ohio Avenue Elementary School. A huge thank you to Principal Mr. Anthony Williams for welcoming me and allowing me to share my story with his fantastic 5th graders.

The energy in the room was absolutely phenomenal! These 5th graders were bursting with enthusiasm from the moment I walked in. They actively participated in the reading of “Jabari Jabari: What Do I Love About Me?” and their thoughtful questions showcased their growing sense of self-awareness.

The discussions we had about self-love and appreciating all the unique qualities that make us who we are were truly heartwarming. It’s so important for young minds to develop a positive self-image, and seeing these students embrace their individuality was a joy.

Some highlights from my visit:

  • Witnessing the students’ excitement about identifying their unique features.
  • Engaging in conversations about self-confidence and embracing what makes them special.
  • Experiencing their energetic participation and thoughtful questions.

I can’t wait to continue sharing these important messages with young readers across the country!

Thank you again to Mr. Williams and the amazing 5th graders at Ohio Avenue Elementary! Your enthusiasm and willingness to learn left a lasting impression on me.
